Lincoln’s performing arts scene is ready to get you into the holiday spirit with a variety of theater, music, dance and other kinds of entertainment.

Following is a list of those events, with dates and times, subject to change.

“Santaland Diaries” — 7:30 p.m. Nov. 25-26, Dec. 2-3; 9 p.m. Dec. 9-10; 2 p.m. Dec. 11, Haymarket Theatre, Eighth and Q streets. Based on the true chronicles of David Sedaris’ experience as Crumpet the Elf in Macy’s Santaland display, this cult classic starring Andy Dillehay riffs on a few of Sedaris’ truly odd encounters with his fellow man during the height of the holiday crunch. “A Christmas Carol” — 7:30 p.m. Dec. 1-3, 8-10; 2 p.m. 4 and 11, McDonald Theatre, 51st Street and Huntington Avenue. NWU Theatre’s Christmas tradition continues with miserly Scrooge, a trio of frightening and enlightening ghosts and a whole lot of good cheer in the Dickens’ classic. “A Charlie Brown Christmas” — 7:30 p.m Dec. 1-3, 8-10; 2 p.m. Dec. 4 and 11. When Charlie Brown complains about the overwhelming materialism he sees among everyone during the holiday season, Lucy suggests that he direct the school Christmas pageant. “’Twas the Night Before Christmas” — 7:30 p.m. Dec. 3, 8-10, 16-17; 2 p.m. Dec. 4, 11 and 18, Lofte Community Theatre, Manley. A mouse named Amos and his human friend, Emily, embark upon a journey to visit Santa Claus. Tickets: $19; 402-234-2553 or lofte.com.

“Elf the Musical Jr.” — 7:30 p.m. Dec. 9, 16; 2 p.m. Dec. 10-11, 17-18, Lincoln Community Playhouse, 2500 S. 56th St. Based on the holiday film, the fish-out-of-water comedy follows Buddy, the human-sized elf in his quest to find his true identity. Tickets: $15.
