Sail of Lights puts an Austin twist on a holiday tradition

AUSTIN (KXAN)- In true city form, some Austinites found a different twist to classic holiday lights.
The 5th annual Sail of Lights kicked off Saturday night on Lady Bird Lake.
A group of paddleboarders lit up their boards and dressed in costumes. Some even put trees on their boards.
They say it’s their version of the Trail of Lights but on the water and the whole idea behind it is to get everyone in the holiday spirit. Organizer Linda McCoy says, “it’s such a different perspective, you get to see the lights floating in the water and you get to see people and everyone is like what are y’all doing??”
