NORWALK — The Norwalk High School student government recently sponsored Spirit Week, which resulted in student and staff donations of more than 320 cans of food, 120 pet items, 60 hats and scarves, and $320 for the Helping Hands fund.

The student government representatives dedicated a different theme to each day and worked tirelessly to collect the donations from the 70-plus classrooms participating. Stew Leonard’s even chipped in to donate the use of four shopping carts for the kids to collect donations in school throughout the week.

The students personally packed and delivered the items Dec. 23-26. As the organizers explain: “This great group of kids worked tirelessly to try to bring some relief to those in the local community in need and they provide a great example of true holiday spirit.”
